Top 10 Games of 2014 (IMO)

Here is a list of my top 10 of video games from 2014. This covers all platforms and may cover games that came out in previous years but I enjoyed in 2014 none the less. This isn't in any particular order, its just my top 10.

I cannot stress enough that this is my own opinion. Of course not everyone is going to agree with me but you can leave your top 10 in the comments down below ☟

1) Watch Dogs - Xbox One
I thoroughougly enjoyed this game even if some of the stuff seems unrealistic. I am still playing it and have not yet finished it but I love it. It's so fun to do some of the off missions, usually Ben will do the gang hideouts and I'll do the Fixer Contracts. I love being able to 'hack' stuff while I'm driving it seems so much more fun than GTA. While I still love GTA with all my heart seeing a cop car shoot up 20 kilometres in the air from a road block, is a lot more fun than shooting them down.
For the actual gameplay, I do enjoy the storyline. While some of it I find a little confusing, as in it didn't seem like it fitted in. I do like the thought and effort that has gone into Aiden's family storyline.
The graphics are amazing, the storyline is pretty good, I love the skills that you can aquire. I played this game for almost a week straight whilst on holidays. I think that earns a gold star in my book.

2) 2048 - iPhone/Mac app
While you may ask what the fuck is this game doing on here because its a mere small game that isn't even on a gaming platform; I would have to say this is my absolute most played game in the entire year. I played it in class on my laptop, I played it for hours on my phone. I couldn't even begin to count the hours I've logged into this game. Whilst I haven't yet reached 2048 I have been so very close and have screamed out when I accidentally made a wrong move.

3) Trials Fusion - Xbox One
I have a love/hate relationship with Trials and while it very well maybe a motorcycle game, its a motorcycle game that I love. I've gotten better at Trials over the years and I did enjoy the gameplay in this. I've enjoyed playing this game in both single player and multiplayer. I can't say much more about the actual game because it's so similar to the previous ones but it definitely deserved a spot in this list and in my heart.
Can anyone tell me if the rider is a clone? Just a theory I have.

4) Minecraft - Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, Mac
I feel like this is going to be on my list every year because it's still one of my ultimate favourite games. I love playing it on Ben and I's creative world.

Just one photo of some stuff that's featured in our world.

Unfortunately I don't have any photos of our other servers but I will be making gameplay videos of our other servers soon!

5) GTA V - Xbox 360
I didn't nearly play this game enough, even though it game out in 2013. I still haven't played a whole lot of it. I'm really sad to say it but I really do need to play it more. I love the game and I love watching Achievement Hunters play GTA. I just don't nearly have enough time nor enough friends to make it fun enough. Although I still love the game with all my heart and I sure enough watched a lot of AH's videos on GTA 5.
I will always remember this scene and piss my pants laughing at it.

6) Left 4 Dead 2 - Xbox 360
Good God I love this game. While it is quite old I constantly played this with Ben and even got to try out the 4 player specials vs. humans. Graphics aren't that great but the gameplay is amazing, especially if you love a good zombie apocalypse. Also the downloadable content is definitely worth getting. The specials are a great addition to the game, which add more to the experience. Specials are zombies but with extras, there's the Spitter (Spits acid, pretty basic). The Hunter (he can pounce on top of you and pin you down). The Boomer (he can spit boomer bile on you which attracts the common infected to you. Also when he dies anyone in close proximity will be covered in boomer bile). The Smoker (he can strangle you with his tongue, similar to Half Life's Barnacle. Smokers release smoke when they die which can impair your vision). The Jockey (he will pounce onto your back and ride you, sometimes into dangerous situations). The Charger (he charges into you with incredible strength, also harder to kill). The Tank (he's like the charger but double. He's the fastest and strongest of the Specials and can throw concrete and objects at you. He's incredibly hard to kill.) Finally, my favourite, the Witch (Players know when she is near due to the change in music and hear cries can be heard. She stays in the one place until something agitates her, say your flashlight, loud noises or bumping into her. If you provoke her, she will come after you fast, she may be able to one-hit-kill. She the second best boss in the game and my favourite due to her badass-ed-ness.) There is also the Wandering Witch, pretty much the same but she wanders instead of sitting on the ground.
Anyway enough about Specials... for now.
Left 4 Dead 2 is an amazing game and is definitely always going to be one of my favourites, until 3 finally comes out *HINT HINT VALVE*

7) Slender the arrival - PC
Ben and I played this game all the way through, which you can watch part 1 on my youtube channel here. We made 4 parts and even though it is a horror game I still feel like the game was too short. I would have loved to see more levels and more of the storyline in clear detail. Graphics could improve but for the most part it was pretty good. The game does rely on jump scares to add its thrill but it's Slender, of course it relys on jump scares. I have played the first 8 pages game of Slender and I must say this was definitely a step up but I still have unanswered questions, like what the hell was up with the burnt down house and kid? What was that girl/thing that kept jumping on me when I tried to jump on the generators? I still don't understand Kate's storyline but if you do please feel free to comment down below. Also am I the only one who feels that Slender was hardly in the game?

8) Outlast - PC,  Xbox One
Okay so I haven't actually played this game yet but it is a horror game which is one of my favourite genres. Don't judge yet, hear me out because I have a lot to say about the game. While myself I haven't played it, I did watch Ray from AH play the entire game and the downloadable content, Whistleblower. I love that the game has multiple horror elements to it, it has jump scares, suspense and chases. I must say that I didn't get to follow the story line but I really didn't like the last chapter of the game, it felt ridiculous and out of place. All in all a great game, if you love American Horror Story Season 2: Asylum. But its a little more hardcore than that.

9) Super Mario 3D World - Wii U
Wow this game, I can't begin to tell you how competitive this game is, in a good way. This is so much fun to play with friends but the gameplay was a little too similar to Super Mario Bros Wii.... But at the same time I loved it, I liked that it followed the same formula but that they were still able to mix it up.
I love that I was able to play my favourite character, Peach, as she hasn't been kidnapped in this game. Which is like only 3% of Mario games including Mario Kart. Although I must say Peach is OP as fuck, like she can do this extra long air time thing because of her dress and its pretty OP.

10) Jazzpunk - PC
Jazzpunk is a small game that has about three levels I think? But boy were those three levels amazing. Amazing enough to make it onto my top 10 of 2014. Jazzpunk is a sort of indie game on steam, you're playing a detective and must follow missions throughout the levels. Throughout the game they include little Easter eggs and weird random things.
I finished it in a day and was very upset to find out that there wasn't anymore.
I found out about Jazzpunk from Joel and Adam (Rooster Teeth) playing it and I knew from that point on I had to buy the game. There wasn't anything else that mattered except getting that freaking game.

Games that came close to making it and their reasons why they didn't:
Far Cry 4 - Haven't played it yet, although I really really want to. Like I've borrowed Ben's to play.
Far Cry Blood Dragon - It came out a long time ago and I feel like if Far Cry 4 didn't make it, then I didn't want to add this.
I am bread - Watching Michael and Gavin (AH) play this game and I couldn't stop laughing, but alas I haven't bought the game yet.
Speed Runners - I haven't nearly played enough even though I really enjoy this game. It's early access but still a decent game. I just don't have anyone besides Ben to play it with.
Octodad - A freaking great game, Ben and I played all the way through but I didn't want to add it until we made a gameplay out of it which is hopefully coming soon.
Geometry wars 3 - I have to say while I do enjoy this game and I love the Titan levels, Ben enjoys it far more than I do.
Don't Starve together - This was so much fun to play in multiplayer with Ben. We survived just over 30 days and it was amazing. There isn't much to say because it's exactly like Don't Starve but I just needed to put it on here. The reason it didn't make it is because I didn't realise until after adding it on the list, that it came out in 2015 not 2014.

Games I wish to play a lot more of in 2015:
Far Cry 4
Destiny
Fibbage
GTA V
